Day 5: Liams first bath (at home)
Today Liam had his first bath at home. The doctors at the IWK said he should only be bathed twice a week. He smelled sooo good after that it might be tough to not want to do it more often. Me and his Nanna bathed him.
Interviewer: "So Liam how are you enjoying your first bath?"
Liam: "Not so much!"
Having fun bathing the little man!
Time to bath babie boy daddy!
Day 4: Liams First "Outing"
Today Liam had his first outing. We needed to get a few things at Walmart. After that we stopped at Nan and Granddads. We ended up at Mike and Katies. I was so nervous at walmart! We had Liam bundled very warm and he slept from when we left the house till we got to the grandparents but I was so nervous when in walmart that it may be too much for him. I am going to be such a protective Dad!!

38 Weeks: Home Care/Back into the IWK!!
Well Kate got to go back home on Home care for the past several days. She continued to be on bed rest and was not allowed to leave the house or do too much else. Finally on Wednesday she convinced one of her nurses to allow her one small outing. What did Kate pick? Blockbuster Video of course Kates Favorite Store!! :) LOL.
So now its Thursday afternoon and we were back in the IWK this morning at 10:30am for a scheduled appointment for Kate. Her blood pressure numbers are up again so this time Dr. Wenning said she is going to stay until Liam is born. Back up to our second home on the 7th floor for 24 hours of observation! Kate is scheduled to be induced by Saturday morning or sooner if her BP numbers go up again. So the next time I post it will probably be with Pics of Liam!!

37 Weeks: So it begins! Mabye not!
Ok this has been a very interesting week for us. Last Wednesday at Kates Prenatal appointment she was told to our surprise that her blood pressure was high and that she has to stop work immediatly and go on bed rest. No meetings, no work, no nothing. Ok... We were also told to moniter Kates Blood pressure at home and if it goes over a certain number take her into the IWK ASAP. So by Sunday her numbers go above that number and down to the IWK we go. Four hours later she is sent home... not yet! Then I get a call from work on Tuesday at noon. Kates numbers are quite high. We call Kates Doctor at the IWK... She says to come in right away. We get there and her numbers shoot way up for a few hours so they decide not to mess around as Kate is almost at 37 weeks. We are told she will definitly be induced and she is rushed to the Birthing room. After being there for about an hour and after calling everyone and telling them this is it, her bp numbers go back down at the last minute so they decide they will now not induce. They decide to instead to send her to the 7th floor for monitoring over the next 24-36 hours. They are sure she will not be sent back home though. Well here we are on Wednesday night and Kates numbers are up but not as bad so it looks like they will be sending her home tommorow morning. This has been quite the crazy week. But also very educational. We went to all the prenatal classes etc but until this happened we didnt realize that it is common to be rushed into the delivery room only to have them change their mind if they can keep the baby in a bit longer. So now we are better prepared mentally for what could be several more weeks of this! :) we shall see. Sorry for the long post I try not to do that but its been nuts!

36 Weeks: SNC Insurance baby shower
Today Kates work threw her a surprise shower for Liam!! They sneeked the food past her and set it all up at the back of her office. She was quite surprised!! They gave her a gift certificate to Toy'r'us and also many little man clothes!! Very Nice!! Perfect timing on the shower girls, we went to Kates baby appointment today and her blood pressure is elevated and she has been told she cannot return to work!! Not to worry she will be fine just a precation and they will watch her closely. Kate and I would like to thank SNC for all of the new things for Liam! :)
